Nightingale chux pads are designed to protect any surface from heavy fluid leakage. Two sizes are available: the Fluff underpad is approximately 23 x 36 inches and the Extra Absorbent Polymer pad is approximately 30 x 30 inches. Both sizes conveniently fit beds, chairs and other flat surfaces. The waterproof barrier prevents leaks while the top layer absorbs 49 oz. (Fluff) to 84 oz. (Extra Absorbent Fluff/Polymer). Chux pads are typically colored blue or green.

The addition of polymer in these chux pads allows urine and other fluids to be quickly absorbed and trapped to decrease leakage. Polymers also neutralize ammonia to decrease the telltale odor. Chux pads are often used in medical and hospital settings.
